ORGANICO, BROADWAY MARKET

PLASTIC-FREE DAY 61

I had the day off work on Friday and rode my bike through the rain to meet a lovely friend in London Fields. I took the opportunity to check out the local plastic-free possibilities...

After buying some scrumptious sourdough bread at Pavilion bakery (where the guy agreed that plastic was bad so much that he almost refused to let me pay by card, but he changed his mind when he realised he would have to give it to me for free because I couldn't take cash out with it either), I popped into Organico across the road.

This tiny shop has a large selection of things wrapped in plastic, like I'm finding a lot of health food shops do. A couple of things they do have are dried mangoes and dates in jars with paper bags to help yourself. They had some scoop-yourself olives, various artisan breads and lots of fresh loose organic fruit and veg including delicious figs.

But the search for loose coco powder and pasta continues!
